Sandra Sánchez and Damián Quintero have qualified for their respective kata finals at the European Karate Championships that began this Wednesday in Gaziantep (Turkey) and both will face local karate fighters in the fight for gold.
The Olympic champion will face Turkish Dilara Bozan, who is ninth in the world rankings, in the final. Both were the best in their respective qualifying groups, with the Spanish always above the judges’ marks.
Sánchez aspires to his seventh consecutive European.
The final will be next Saturday, the same as lto masculine, who will face Damián Quintero, Olympic runner-up, and Ali Sofuogluold acquaintance and bronze in Tokyo 2020. In this case the notes were more even in favor of one or the other.
