San Cristóbal and Barahona win the South Volleyball Cup

The San Cristóbal sextets, for women, and Barahona, for men, were crowned champions of the South Superior Volleyball Cup, staged at the Azua sports center.

The San Cristobal women imposed their status as favorites and with extraordinary offensive executions by Esmeralda Ramírez and Alondra Reyes they defeated San Juan de la Maguana in the final 25-15, 25-16, 25-9

Ramírez and Reyes, with 23 and 21 points, respectively, were unstoppable throughout the match Reyes, who was better in attack, scorer and Most Valuable Player of the event organized by the Dominican Volleyball Federation and the Azua Association of that discipline, which Alexis García and Yasser Matos preside, in that order.

In the lost cause, Aurys Piña, with 10 points, was the only bright spot that I had as a set of “El Granero del Sur”. Rinelxi Martínez added five.

Azua’s local team finished in third position.

On its side, Barahona, represented by the municipality of Cabral, beat Baní 25-21, 25, 23, 25-19, which represented the Peravia province.
