A senior Pentagon official has said that Russia’s statements regarding the use of nuclear weapons are “extremely dangerous.”
According to the Pentagon, the United States is monitoring Russian forces in order to detect the transfer of biological or chemical materials from Ukraine to Ukraine. The U.S. official said Russia’s nuclear program was also being monitored.
A senior Pentagon official said the US military estimates that the Russian military is facing shortages of food and energy. Some Russian soldiers came out of the battlefield suffering from severe cold.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the American news channel CNN on Tuesday that “we care about our internal security and the safety of our people.” And if there is a threat to our country’s existence, we can use nuclear weapons according to our principles.
It is believed that President Putin had placed the country’s strategic nuclear forces on high alert on February 28, just days after the start of the war.
