Confirmation of Participation in Ranji Trophy Matches

Rohit Sharma confirmed his availability for Mumbai’s upcoming match against Jammu and Kashmir on January 23 in the second phase of the Ranji Trophy. When asked about the involvement of star players in domestic matches, Sharma emphasized that due to their hectic international schedules, it is challenging for players to find time for domestic cricket. He reassured that no player takes the top domestic tournament lightly.

International Matches Do Not Take Place After IPL: Rohit Sharma

Regarding his availability for home matches, Sharma stated that their schedules rarely allow for extended periods at home. He pointed out that the domestic season runs from October to March, and players who are not involved in all formats for the national team can participate in domestic cricket during that time.

Sharma highlighted his own busy schedule, having started playing Test cricket regularly since 2019, leaving little time for domestic matches. He emphasized that it’s not that players are taking domestic cricket lightly; rather, they require time to refresh between international matches.

Rohit Sharma’s Test Cricket Journey

Rohit Sharma made his Test debut in 2013 and initially showed promise with centuries in his first two Test matches. However, he struggled with form issues and was in and out of the team. Since 2019, he has been a regular member of the Test team, scoring 4301 runs in 67 Test matches, including 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries.
