River: DT Demichelis carried out a practice with Suárez and Mammana

The River Plate coach, Martín Demichelis, held a soccer practice this Sunday at the Monumental stadium with the inclusion of Matías Suárez and Emanuel Mammana, who could return to the squad to play against Racing de Córdoba for the Argentine Cup next Wednesday .

Suárez had not been able to play any game so far this year due to chronic synovitis in his right knee and Mammana had not played since the left hamstring muscle injury he suffered after starting in the Professional League debut against Central Córdoba, in Santiago del Estero.

Both players received a medical discharge last week with work on par with the rest of the squad, and it will depend on the evolution of the next 48 hours for the coach to take them into account for the commitment against the “Academy” from Cordoba.

In the trial against the reserve they played Ezequiel Centurión; Andrés Herrera, Jonatan Maidana, Paulo Díaz and Elías Gómez; Santiago Simón, Rodrigo Aliendro, Agustín Palavecino and Pablo Solari; Miguel Borja and Lucas Beltran.

While Franco Petroli, Mammana, Tomás Castro Ponce, Franco Alfonso -who later went to the First team- and Suárez, who was in the first 30 minutes and then was replaced by Agustín Fontana, joined the reserve.

The match -which was played in two half-hour periods- ended 2-0 with a brace from Colombian Borja. After training the players were released to rest tomorrow and return to work on Tuesday.

On the other hand, two historic players from the River Plate squad, Milton Casco and Enzo Pérez, who did not finish the game against Lanús, worked lightly and carefully, ahead of Wednesday’s match against Racing de Córdoba for the Argentine Cup.

Casco received a “paralytic” and left shortly after the start of the second half; while the captain left the playing field due to physical exhaustion in the middle of the second stage. Both did regenerative tasks in the Monumental.

Demichelis will define in the next few days whether to give them rest or continue in the team both Casco and Pérez, who together with Ignacio Fernández and Franco Armani are the only ones who started every game.

The team that remained concentrated after the 2-0 victory against Lanús for the sixth round of the Professional League trained at the Monumental with regenerative tasks for those who played the most minutes.

This Tuesday, after training in the afternoon, the millionaire delegation will travel by charter flight to Santiago del Estero, where they will play on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. against Racing de Córdoba.

After the match at the Madre de Ciudades stadium, the team will return to Buenos Aires to train on the same Thursday, since on Sunday the 12th they will play at the Monumental for the seventh date of the Professional League against Godoy Cruz.
