Sean Payton He already has a new team in the NFL. The former Saints head coach was waiting for a new opportunity after retiring at the end of the 2021 season, his last after 15 years with New Orleans.
Now Payton has a deal to become the new head coach of the denver broncosaccording to a report from Adam SchefterESPN insider.
However, the Broncos have to give Saints a 2023 Draft first-round pick (the 29th overall) and another in the second round in 2024, in exchange for a third round selection by the Saints in 2024. All this because Payton has a current contract with the New Orleans Saints until 2024,
Other teams that showed interest in Payton’s services were the Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers.
There was also speculation that Payton would reach the dallas cowboysbut the team owner Jerry Joneshas shown his support for the coach Mike McCarthy after being eliminated in the Divisional Round by the San Francisco 49ers.

payton ended up with 152-89 record in regular season with New Orleans in those 15 seasons and won the Super Bowl with the Saints in 2009.
The Broncos were one of the great disappointments of the 2022 campaign, after finishing with a 5-12 mark, in last place in the AFC West Division, despite having the services of the quarterback Russell Wilsonobtained in a trade with the seattle seahawks.
