They assure that by the year 2021, Geogas notified a change in its logistics to supply Refidomsa from its storage tanks in San Pedro de Macorís, having the state company a participation in the LPG market of approximately 36%, therefore, “in the current circumstances, a shortage that could harm the country is not possible, in view of the participation of other companies in the market and the existing supply infrastructure.

“In relation to the fear of a hypothetical shortage, this did not happen, nor will it happen, because as the president of Refidomsa’s Board of Directors, Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, has reiterated on multiple occasions, the company operates with a high level of foresight and anticipates to eventual contingencies to guarantee the supply of all the derivatives it processes”, they indicated in a press release.

about conflict

Regarding the conflict referred to in press publications, Refidomsa clarified that there is a claim made to Geogas since 2020 and through which they request the company to comply with its contractual obligation.

“This conflict of an economic nature has generated various meetings without being able to reach an agreement,” they said.

“However, it is pertinent to report that, in the case of claims like this, the contract establishes that the fulfillment of the obligations of the parties must be maintained, especially the obligation to supply LPG,” they pointed out.
