Red Sox’s Trevor Story suffers from a broken right wrist

Trevor Story, de los Medias Rojas, sufre de una fractura en la muñeca derecha

Boston Red Sox second baseman Trevor Story now knows why his hand hasn’t been recovering the way he thought it would after being hit on July 12 by a pitch.

Story saw a hand specialist on Friday and underwent tests that revealed a broken right wrist. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said the fracture is in a different place than where the slugger was hit.

Before this latest diagnosis, the club had hoped that Story would be able to return to the field in a matter of days. Now, he won’t be able to swing for at least 10 days.

“The hit to the bone has improved,” Cora said. “They found a small fracture near the wrist. The treatment does not change. It’s basically the same thing we’ve been doing. Like a strain. But now he won’t be able to swing for a week and a half.”
