Record production of “mango” in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Qanfiza Commissionerate orchards supply 45,000 tons of mangoes annually across the country. Qanfiza has 3,000 mango orchards and is one of the commissioners in the Makkah Mukarramah region.

According to Saudi media, Engineer Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Makkah Mukarramah Region, has said that mangoes are being supplied to all regions and commissioners of the kingdom.

He said that these mangoes are being marketed in a good manner all over the country and farmers are also being encouraged due to which high quality mangoes are being produced in the area.

He said that a mango fair is organized every year in Qanfaza Commissionerate in which the owners of orchards bring mangoes and they are sold hand in hand.

Engineer Majid Al-Khalif, in-charge of the social affairs department under the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, said that the Qanfza Mango Fair was providing a good opportunity for the people of the Commissionerate to introduce their products.

During the Mango Festival, there are various entertainment programs, public activities and cultural nights.

The Mango Fair was inaugurated on Tuesday, May 24 at Qanfiza Commissionerate. The festival lasted for five days. It is the eleventh festival in the series.
