Real Madrid-Vinícius Jr Tensions Mount After El Clásico Substitution

Real Madrid faces escalating internal tension as star forward Vinícius Jr. reportedly considers his future after a heated exchange with coach Xabi Alonso, who maintains the club’s full backing.

The Spanish football giants unequivocally support Alonso’s decisions, including the recent substitution of Vinícius Jr. during ‘El Clásico,’ according to reports from the newspaper ‘As’. The club expressed full confidence in its manager.

Vinícius Jr. reacted angrily during his substitution in the 72nd minute, reportedly using expletives and threatening to leave the team. He was replaced by Rodrygo in the match.

Real Madrid management strongly disapproved of the Brazilian international’s behavior, stating they disliked the image he projected. The club is reportedly “fed up” with Vinícius’s actions and noted that players have been fined for “similar incidents” in the past.

From Vinícius’s perspective, he feels coach Xabi Alonso “does not like him” and believes his “status, earned in recent seasons, is not being respected.” He maintains he fulfilled the coach’s requests on the field.

The forward has reportedly accumulated “many episodes of frustration” over Alonso’s decisions this season. He has been a substitute in three games and completed only three full matches.

Amid the growing friction, Vinícius Jr. has not ruled out the possibility of leaving the team.

Xabi Alonso was appointed at the beginning of the season, taking over from Carlo Ancelotti. The Spanish press is widely reporting on the “maximum tension” now characterizing the relationship between the player and his coach.
