Ravichandran Ashwin Halts IPL 2025 Content on YouTube Amid Controversy

Ravichandran Ashwin is making headlines, but it’s not because of his performance on the field. The Chennai Super Kings off-spinner is in the spotlight due to his YouTube channel. Ashwin has decided to make a significant change to his channel after landing in controversy.

From now on, his channel won’t cover anything about the IPL 2025. Additionally, there won’t be any discussions about the Chennai Super Kings. Previously, Ashwin used to post match previews and analytical videos about his team.

The Decision

The administrators of Ashwin’s YouTube channel released a statement. It said, “After the discussion on our channel last week, we’ve decided not to cover Chennai Super Kings matches, including previews and reviews. Our guests’ opinions don’t reflect Ashwin’s personal views. We’re committed to maintaining the credibility and purpose of this platform.”

What Sparked the Controversy?

The controversy began after a match between the Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. A guest on Ashwin’s channel said Noor Ahmad shouldn’t be in the Chennai playing eleven. They suggested replacing him with an extra batsman, given the team already has two senior spinners. This didn’t sit well with Chennai fans and some cricket enthusiasts, who started trolling Ashwin and his channel. Notably, Noor Ahmad is currently the top wicket-taker in IPL 2025 and holds the purple cap.
