Former Team India coach Ravi Shastri and former Australia captain Ricky Ponting have made predictions about the 8 teams participating in the tournament. They have shared their thoughts on which teams can play in the final of the tournament.
Talking on the episode of ICC Review, Ravi Shastri and Ricky Ponting named India and Australia as potential finalists for the Champions Trophy. The selection of these two teams is based on their performance. Additionally, Ravi Shastri chose England and South Africa as other potential semi-finalists.
Ricky Ponting commented, “It is difficult to go beyond India and Australia. If you think about the quality of players in both countries and look back at recent history when big finals and ICC events have been held, Australia and India are always present somewhere.”
The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to start from February 19 and will be hosted by Pakistan. However, Team India will play all their matches in Dubai. The first match of the tournament will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand, while Team India will play their first match against Bangladesh on February 20. Team India will then play their second match against Pakistan on February 23.
It is worth noting that the India and Australia teams also faced each other in the 2023 ODI World Cup held in India. Australia won the World Cup in the title match. Now it will be interesting to see which teams reach the final of the Champions Trophy 2025.
