India team batsman KL Rahul may not be able to play in the upcoming tours, but he would definitely like to return to the national team after being fully fit. Captain Rahul was out after picking up an injury ahead of the T20I series against South Africa.
Rahul reported the injury to the National Cricket Academy (NCA), where the batsman was assessed by the medical team and it was decided that he would not be able to travel to England for the rescheduled fifth Test. However, the slugger is paying close attention to the recovery as he shared the photos of him on the Ku app on Monday and captioned it “Keep praying for me.”
The India team arrived in England on June 16 to start the tour of England. India will face England for the rescheduled fifth Test at Old Trafford from July 1.
The rescheduled fifth test will count as India’s fifth match of the 2021 series in England, with the visitors winning 2-1. Following the Covid-19 outbreak in 2021, the fifth test was postponed at the last minute. Team India will also play a four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire from June 24-27.
