Rafael Nadal confirms that he will play in the Cincinnati Masters

The Spanish Rafa Nadal confirmed today through his social networks that this Thursday he will travel to the United States to participate in the Cincinnati Masters, his first tournament since he had to withdraw at Wimbledon in early July due to a torn abdominal that prevented him from play the semifinal against Nick Kyrgios.

"Very happy to be back playing at Cincy. flying there tomorrow"wrote the number three in the world and winner of 22 Grand Slam titles on his Instagram profile, along with an image in which he poses on the Mallorcan beach of Porto Cristo.

On August 5, the tennis player from Manacor announced that he was giving up playing the Master 1000 tournament in Montreal due to some "little annoyances" he suffered when he coached the service.

"Since the vacation days and my subsequent return to training, everything has gone well these weeks as far as training and preparation are concerned. Four days ago I also started training the service and yesterday, after training, I had a little discomfort that was still there today. We have decided not to travel to Montreal and continue with training without forcing"Nadal then explained in a statement sent to EFE.

After his recovery, the Spanish tennis player will begin his American tour this year in Cincinnati, a tournament that will serve as preparation for the US Open.
