The Olympic kata runner-up Damián Quintero added a new podium on his return to competition by winning the bronze medal in the Moscow Premier League with a victory over the American Ariel Torres. The Spanish karate fighter obtained from the judges a score of 26.2 with his kata ‘suparinpei’, compared to the 25.4 that Torres obtained with ‘anan’.
The Cuban-born athlete won the bronze medal at the last Tokyo Games. The Japanese Ryusei Ikeda obtained in Moscow the other bronze against his compatriot Kai Ayato.
