The Formula 1 World Championship starts next March. And before presenting its car for the new season, Scuderia Ferrari announced a new partnership with Qualcomm.
The company, well known to tech enthusiasts for developing the processors for leading Android smartphones, will be showing itself to a new audience. And then from the hand of one of the most emblematic teams in this motor sport.
The Qualcomm logo will be present on the Ferrari F1-75
The Ferrari F1-75 (name of the future car) that will be presented on February 17 in Maranello, Italy, will thus have the Qualcomm logo highlighted. And in an official statement, Ferrari spoke about the partnership.
“Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. will be a premium partner of Scuderia Ferrari through Snapdragon, Qualcomm’s premium brand of products and experiences leveraged across multiple platforms and categories, including automotive,” the statement read.
This agreement aims to accelerate the process of digital transformation of Ferrari and its cars. This will be done from common projects already identified, such as the digital cabin. These will bring together ideas and knowledge to explore a wide range of technology solutions.
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna says he believes “innovation requires market leaders to work together.” In addition, this agreement allows Ferrari to expand its knowledge “in digital technologies and web 3.0, areas with great potential for motorsport”.
Qualcomm chairman and chief executive Cristiano Amon says he is very “excited” to see its leadership in automotive technology “play a key role” in the strategic relationship with Ferrari.
