Qatar World Cup: Vaccine yes or vaccine no?

The coronavirus vaccine will not be mandatory for fans attending the 2022 Qatar World Cup, who will only have to present a negative test upon entering the Asian country, as announced on Thursday by the Qatari government and the Organizing Committee of the tournament.

“People arriving in Qatar do not have to quarantine, regardless of their vaccination status or their country of origin,” the organizers said in a statement. Any visitor who arrives in Qatar, over six years of age, must present a negative result at the airport within 48 hours if it is a PCR test and less than 24 hours if it is an antigen test.

On the other hand, the organization of the World Cup communicated that the use of the mask will be mandatory in public transport and in health establishments, while stressing that anyone who tests positive during the development of the tournament must be isolated for five days and After that time, you must wear a mask for another five days.

Visitors over the age of 18 will also need to download the Ehteraz tracking app, which is required to enter closed public places. The organizers reported that in the days leading up to the tournament and upon arrival in the country, visitors will receive precise instructions on the use of Ehteraz. The other important novelty for foreigners who process the Hayya letter – the card that fulfills the function of a visa to enter Qatar and that gives access to the stadiums during the World Cup – is that “emergency health care will be free in public hospitals for headlines,” according to the statement. In this sense, the group of hospitals, medical centers, clinics and private or public pharmacies in the country will be open to visitors during the World Cup that will begin on November 20 and end on December 18.
