A sexual encounter outside of marriage in Qatar during the 2022 World Cup, which runs from November 21 to December 18, could lead to up to seven years in prison.
According to the English media Daily Star, the Supreme Committee of Qatar reported in a statement: “Qatar is a conservative country and public displays of affection are frowned upon regardless of sexual orientation.”
