Russian President Vladimir Putin has addressed the "crisis situation in diplomatic practice" with the director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns.

On November 5, CNN, citing US and Ukrainian sources, reported that US President Joe Biden sent Burns to Moscow to warn Russia of his military activity near its border with Ukraine and to find out the Kremlin’s intentions.
