The Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED) reported that the Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Power Plant you have scheduled a maintenance shutdown for the weekend,according to the information supplied to the coordinating body of SENI.
Such maintenance is essential to maintain supply stability in the short and medium term, the institution said in a note.
"We are taking the necessary steps to mitigate the impact of the departure from Punta Catalina, but there is the possibility that during the weekend some users may suffer interruptions in service as a result of cuts due to the electricity generation deficit, ”said Andrés Astacio , Executive Vice President of the Distribution Companies.
The Unified Council apologized to the population for the inconvenience caused as a result of the lack of generation and assured that this maintenance will help improve operations for the benefit of the country.
