Punjab Kings Boosted as 4 Overseas Players Return for Playoffs

The IPL 2025 season is back in full swing, but some teams are getting anxious. Especially those close to making the playoffs or already in. The reason? Many foreign players’ availability is uncertain. However, Punjab Kings just got some good news – three foreign players will join their team for the next match.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, and Kyle Jamieson will arrive in India on Tuesday. They might play against Delhi Capitals on May 24. This news comes as Punjab Kings have already qualified for the playoffs and have a chance to make it to Qualifier 1 directly.

So far, Marcus Stoinis and Josh Inglis haven’t performed well. Aaron Hardy, who was bought for 1.25 crores, hasn’t played a single match this season. Kyle Jamieson replaced injured Lockie Ferguson in the squad. On the bright side, Marco Jansen, who has taken 13 wickets, has joined the team.

Back in the Playoffs After 11 Years

It seems like Punjab Kings’ investment is paying off in IPL 2025. Under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy, they’ve won 8 out of 12 matches. Shreyas is the same player who led Delhi Capitals to the IPL 2020 final. Now, he’s changing Punjab Kings’ fortune, taking them to the playoffs after 11 years. The last time Punjab made it to the playoffs was in 2014.

The team’s chances are looking good, and the upcoming match against Delhi Capitals will be crucial. With their new players joining, Punjab Kings might just make it to Qualifier 1. The season is heating up, and fans are excited to see what’s next for Punjab Kings.
