Promipyme brings together the national leadership of MSMEs

The general director of the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme) met this Friday with the main leaders of the MSME sector, businesses, industries and services in the country

According to information, the objective of the meeting was to articulate and agree on a proposal that allows formalizing and promoting these companies in the Dominican Republic.

The representatives of the various economic sectors proposed that Law 488-08, which establishes a Regulatory Regime for the Development and Competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Mipymes), be taken as a reference.

The head of Promipyme thanked the integration and participation of the main leaders in this first meeting, who also appreciated being taken into account and being an integral part of this project.

Peralta spoke about the importance of the initiative known as "Articulation Program for the Comprehensive Strengthening of Dominican MSMEs, PRONAFI-MIPYMES" which is important for the sector, since it will present a development and strengthening strategy for the MSME sector at the national level. And that it will be a consensual proposal to be presented to the Executive Power.

Among the participants in the meeting were Ricardo Rosario and Manuel Ortiz, from the Unidos Retailer group; Fausto Figuereo, from the National Federation of Provision Retailers, (FENACODEP); Miguel Minaya, Federation of the New Market; Jose Diaz, Fenacocerd; Miguel Taveras, Fedepro; Antonio Cruz and Elías Arbaje, Conacerd; Iván García, Dominican Federation of Merchants, FDC. Rafael Santos, Dominican Federation of Retailers; Franklin Vásquez, Cyfras Consultores; Fellito Luna, president of the San Pedro de Macorís Chamber of Commerce; Francisco Mateo, president of Asonameca and Andrés Arias, René Rivas of the Dominican Association of Textile Industries, Aditex.

In the development of the activity, the manager of Cyfras Consultores presented a plan to strengthen Dominican MSMEs, which was welcomed by the business and trade leaders present at said meeting.

Porfirio Peralta, reported that in this first meeting all agreed to agree and propose a formalization document that covers the sector of micro, small and medium-sized companies with a view to achieving true development of the Mipymes sector.

One of the objectives is to ensure that MSMEs can have legal mechanisms, clear rules, and good management with everything related to Social Security and labor and that allows a greater promotion of new formal jobs to achieve better results in their financing and job creation. .

Porfirio Peralta announced that the various proposals to be delivered to the President of the Republic will be known at the second meeting.
