The president of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), engineer Garibaldy Bautista, installed the new members of the Women and Sports Commission of the Olympic organization.
After taking the oath of the new members of the Women and Sports commission of the COD, engineer Bautista urged them to fulfill their duties and responsibilities.
Meanwhile, Dulce María Piña, immortal of the sport, took on the trust placed by the COD executive committee as a challenge to continue leading that commission.
Piña also highlighted each of the members that make up the commission, including Olympic medalist Luisito Pie, the first man to form part of the COD’s Women and Sports commission.
“Our purpose is to guide and help athletes prepare and be able to occupy roles in the sports field,” said the former Olympian.
The Women and Sports Commission of the COD is made up of the immortal of Sports, Dulce María Piña, president, as well as Ana Montilla, of karate; Mireya Altagracia Tejeda, rowing and canoeing; Matilde Guerrero, immortal of sport; Cecilia Suero, athletics; Margarita Jaques, swimming; Carlina Guzmán, archery; Pily Báez Sousa, from bowling; Blanca Iris Alejo, from table tennis; Luisito Pie, Olympic athlete, who will be as a collaborator.
