The President of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, took advantage of the end of the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government to rest and visit the popular destination, a mecca for water sports in the country.
The 49-year-old president stayed in one of the villas of the Sea Horse Ranch complex and enjoyed the attractions of the area, learning about the history of this emblematic tourist destination.
The president defined by those who shared with him during his stay, as a very simple person, who walked with a discreet escort through the streets of Cabarete, visited local restaurants and the beach in a discreet way, going unnoticed by most of those present, with the small escort that accompanied him.
Cabarete is the scene of international surfing, kitboarding and windsurfing tournaments, with a nightlife that many consider “romantic and magical”, with a gastronomic offer of different nationalities in dozens of restaurants scattered along its famous beach.
