Portugal borders on 300 cases of monkeypox

The Portuguese health authorities 21 new cases of monkeypox have been confirmed this Monday in Portugal, so the total number of infected people rises to 297, all of them men and with a stable condition.

The infected have between 19 and 61 yearsalthough most are under 40, the Portuguese General Directorate of Health (DGS) said in a statement on Monday.

By area, the bulk of the infections corresponds to Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, although they have also been detected in the Algarve (south) and the North region.

The identified cases remain in clinical follow-up.
