Poland begins maneuvers with the NATO high-readiness force, which also includes Spanish soldiers

Poland Training maneuvers for the NATO High Readiness Joint Force are taking place these days, the General Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced. The exercises take place outside City of Drawsko Pomorskie with the intervention of 3,000 soldiers from Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, Albania and Turkey, and nearly 700 pieces of military equipment, including tanks, armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles.

These maneuvers are part of the large-scale Steadfast Defender 2024 exercises, for which 90,000 military personnel, marines and pilots from 31 NATO countries and Sweden, as well as 50 warships, 80 aircraft and 1,100 combat vehicles were mobilized. The key element of these Allied maneuvers is the Polish exercise Dragon 24

The Defense Ministry emphasized that “Steadfast Defender” and “Dragon 24” have a defensive character and are not directed against any country, “but are evidence of the ability to counter the aggressive policies and provocative activities of the Russian Federation.”

The aim of Dragon 24 is to test the Polish Armed Forces’ ability to respond to a possible response multidimensional armed crisis, This helps strengthen the alliance’s deterrence and defense potential and demonstrates the strength and determination that comes from its unity, as the Polish army stated.

Steadfast Defender 24 the largest demonstration of the defense capabilities of the NATO alliance and its member states since 1999since the so-called first wave of expansion of the Atlantic Organization, which included Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary, the first countries of the former Eastern Bloc.
