Pokémon Remake Rumors: Black and White Return Possible on February 27 Presentation

Tomorrow's Pokémon could reveal a game that we have been asking for years

Distinct rumors are circulating about the upcoming Pokémon presentation on February 27, suggesting that we might finally see the long-awaited remake of Pokémon Black and White. This has been a topic of discussion for years, and its return would make sense, given the current state of the Pokémon franchise.

With Pokémon Legends: Z on the horizon, it’s unlikely that The Pokémon Company International would announce the tenth generation just yet, as it could potentially impact the sales of the new Legends game. A remake, however, would fit nicely into the current lineup. Typically, these releases are less significant than the premiere of a new Pokémon generation, so they could coexist without issue. It would be more logical for the tenth generation to be announced once we have more details about the Nintendo Switch 2.

Will we see Pokémon Black and White Remake at the Pokémon present?

Of course, all of this is speculative, as we’re dealing with rumors and forecasts. The potential remake of Pokémon Black and White would be the next in line, following the re-release of the previous four generations. If the rumors are true, it would come with some exciting new features. The new fifth-generation games would reportedly include all Pokémon from the first five generations, add exclusive routes from Pokémon White 2 and Black 2, allow trades with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, feature DLC, and incorporate the mechanics of teracristalization.

As I’ve mentioned, none of this is confirmed, and we won’t have an answer until the Pokémon presentation tomorrow. Nonetheless, I’d love for some of these rumors to be true. Many of us are eager to return to the Unova region, also known as Teselia. To some extent, it would make sense, given that it’s unusual for a Pokémon game to be released without significant advertising. Most likely, much of the live presentation will focus on secondary games, a mobile phone application or update, and Pokémon Legends: Z itself.
