An 18-year-old has been apprehended by the authorities in Montevideo for their alleged involvement in a recent bullet attack. The young woman, who was required by the police, had gone to Section 17 of the Casavalle Unit to carry out a procedure. Upon entering her information, the police discovered that she was wanted and promptly took her into custody.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Sunday, February 16, in the area of Luis Alberto de Herrera and La Rambla, where a member of the criminal group “Los Colorados” was targeted. According to investigators, the young woman is believed to have been inside a white car that was used as a getaway vehicle by the attacker.
The events unfolded when the attacker, who was on a motorcycle, shot at the car carrying the alleged leader of “Los Colorados” and then fell to the ground after being rammed by the vehicle. It was at this point that the white car slowed down, allowing the attacker to climb in and flee the scene. The driver of the targeted car was shot in the back, while a 23-year-old woman in the vehicle suffered multiple gunshot wounds and is in serious condition. A 5-year-old boy who was also in the car was injured by a bullet.
The police presume that the young woman played a role in this violent attack, which has raised concerns about the escalating violence in the area. As the investigation continues, more details are expected to emerge about the events surrounding the attack and the young woman’s alleged involvement.
