Pogacar wins again in the fourth stage of the Vuelta a Andalucía

Tadej Pogacar reinforces his leadership after winning for the third time in the Tour of Andalusia, in the fourth stage, this Saturday between Ólvera and Iznájar, after beating Enric Mas in the final.

The Slovenian from the UAE team, flanked by the Spaniard, broke away from the peloton a dozen kilometers from the finish to catch up and pass the Frenchman Pavel Sivakov, the last survivor of the day’s breakaway.

Overtaken by other cyclists three kilometers from the finish, Pogacar and Mas had a one-on-one in the last 100 meters, and it was finally the Slovenian who narrowly won.

From the classic Jaén cyclist, Pogacar was crowned four times on five occasions. He alone let his Belgian teammate Tim Wellens take the third stage on Friday in Alcalá de los Gazules.

At just 24 years old, the Slovenian has reached 50 career wins.

Pogacar is one minute and fourteen seconds ahead of the Basque Mikel Landa, who is second in the general classification.

The Colombian from the Bahrain team, Santiago Buitrago, finished fifth and is now third overall.

The fifth and last stage, on Sunday, between Otura and Alhaurín de la Torre, presents a profile with unevenness at the beginning of the day and a flat finish.

Classification of the fourth stage:

1. Tadej Pogacar (SVN/UAE), the 164.8 km in 4h01:11.

2. Enric Mas (ESP/Movistar) at 3 seconds.

3. Lorenzo Rota (ITA/Intermarché-Circus-Wanty) at 9.

4. Mikel Landa (ESP/Bahrain) at 12.

5. Santiago Buitrago (COL/Bahrain) at 21.

General ranking:

2. Mikel Landa (ESP/Bahrain) at 1:14.

3. Santiago Buitrago (COL/Bahrain) at 1:19.

4. Carlos Rodriguez (ESP/Ineos) at 1:35.
