‘Players find it difficult to play in all three formats’, what is the meaning of this statement by Quinton de Kock

Will South African cricketers not participate in IPL 2022? BCCI to talk to Graeme Smith

South Africa’s star batsman Quinton de Kock feels it will be difficult for players to play in all three formats going forward. However, while many former cricketers questioned the existence of day cricket, on the one hand De Kock has described the future of this format as good.

De Kock had scored an unbeaten 92 before the third ODI against England at Headingley on Sunday was canceled due to rain. He retired from his test career after the first test against India at Centurion last year before taking paternity leave.

Ever since Ben Stokes’ ODI retirement, the players’ workload and hectic cricket schedule have been a topic of debate in the cricket world. After the match, de Kock said: “It’s starting to be difficult for the players to play in all three formats. There seems to be too many matches. The players have to decide individually and if they feel they can play in all three formats, it will be better. But people need to take the decision into their own hands. For me, I’m happy where I am.”

De Kock also expressed his hope that South Africa will play more 50+ cricket and said he wants to win the ODI World Cup for Proteas, a chance for which will come in India next year. De Kock admitted that playing in ODI and T20 has not slowed down since his retirement from Test cricket as after playing in South Africa’s white ball series against Bangladesh, De Kock went on to play for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022 Were.

He also came to India to play for Proteas for five T20Is and is now in England for the ODI and T20I series. De Kock is scheduled to feature in The Hundred, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) before returning for India’s short tour of South Africa and the T20 World Cup in Australia.
