Xbox and Amazon Collaborate to Bring Cloud Gaming to Fire TV Devices
Starting in July, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate owners will be able to play hundreds of cloud-enabled games directly from the Xbox app on select Fire TV devices.
How to Play Xbox Games with the Amazon Fire TV Stick
To get started, you’ll need a Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) or a Fire TV Stick 4K (2023), as they are compatible with Xbox games and the cloud. Then, download and install the Xbox app on your Fire TV device from the Amazon App Store.
Sign in and Subscribe
When you open the app, you’ll be asked to sign in with a Microsoft account. Enter your login details and subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate if you haven’t already done so. The membership costs 14.99 euros per month.
Connect a Controller
Then, all you have to do is connect a compatible Bluetooth controller, such as the Xbox Wireless or Xbox Adaptive Controller. Sony controllers are also supported.
Experience Cloud Gaming
Once you’ve done that, you can immediately experience all Game Pass games that have cloud support. Make sure you have a stable internet connection wherever you want to play to get the best possible gaming experience.
Cloud Gaming Alternative
An alternative to cloud gaming via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is Amazon’s own service, AmazonLuna. This has been available since 2020 and requires a compatible device, such as a Fire TV Stick or a Smart TV from LG or Samsung. The subscription costs only 9.99 euros per month, but currently offers fewer titles than Game Pass Ultimate.
