Barça player Pierre Oriola has tested positive for COVID-19, as reported by the Blaugrana club this Saturday when knowing the results of the last control tests carried out after the Euroleague game against UNICS Kazan.
“The Barça captain tested positive on the afternoon of December 23 after the control tests carried out,” said FC Barcelona in a brief statement. Oriola thus joins the rest of the team’s casualties: Cory Higgins, Nick Calathes, Álex Abrines, Sergi Martínez and Nigel Hayes-Davis, the latter also for the same reason.
Oriola will miss the match against Morabanc Andorra, scheduled for this Tuesday, December 28, corresponding to the Endesa League, and the visit to Baskonia in the Euroleague on the 30th to end the year 2021. His return could be around the ‘Clásico’ on January 2 or the duel against CSKA five days later.
