A quiet morning in the northern Philippines suddenly turned into a scene of disaster. On October 7, 2025, the Piggatan Bridge in Cagayan province buckled and collapsed. It happened right in the middle of the 75-meter span. Three heavy ten-wheel trucks were crossing the bridge at that exact moment. The structure gave way beneath them.
The vehicles plunged into the twisted steel and debris below. It was a terrifying sight for anyone nearby. Emergency teams quickly arrived from Alcala town’s disaster management office. They immediately worked to rescue people trapped in the wreckage.
