Brazilian esports teams experienced a mixed opening day at the PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 Counter-Strike tournament, with paiN Gaming securing a decisive victory while two other squads, MIBR and Legacy, began their campaigns with losses.
paiN Gaming emerged as the sole Brazilian team to win its opening best-of-three series. They defeated Gentle Mates 2-0. The team claimed Ancient with a 19-15 score and Mirage 13-10.

MIBR faced BetBoom, losing their series 2-1. They secured Nuke 13-10 but dropped Overpass 13-1 and Ancient 13-7. Legacy also fell 2-1 to Team Liquid. They won Mirage 13-11 but then lost Inferno 13-7 and Nuke 13-9.
The international Counter-Strike 2 championship commenced on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Bucharest, Romania. All three Brazilian teams will return to competition on Monday, October 27, 2025.
paiN Gaming will aim for a 2-0 record against GamerLegion. Legacy will seek its first win against Gentle Mates. MIBR will also attempt to secure a 1-1 record in its match against Astralis.
Monday’s matches are scheduled for 08:00 UTC for paiN Gaming and Legacy. MIBR’s match will begin at 17:00 UTC.
The PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 features a Swiss format group stage. Teams must secure three best-of-three series victories to advance to the playoffs. Three losses will result in elimination from the tournament.
