Peru has revoked the decision requiring visas for Mexican citizens

Caracas.- This Wednesday, the Peruvian government revoked the decree with which it established the visa requirement for Mexican citizens, in response to the measure taken by the Mexican executive.

“This action responds to the call of various voices from tourism and related sectors and honors our commitment to the principles of the Pacific Alliance, which proclaim the free mobility of people between its member states,” the Peruvian Foreign Ministry clarified.

Likewise, the government of Dina Boluarte, not recognized as the legitimate president of Peru by her Mexican counterpart Andrés Manuel López Obrador, reaffirmed its “spirit for regional integration and friendly and cooperative relations with the Mexican people.”

Starting April 20, any Peruvian wishing to visit Mexico will have to apply for a “temporary” visa, Mexico’s Interior Ministry announced last week.
