PBKS vs RCB: ‘Punjab bowling is weak, batting will have to win’, former player’s statement

Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will meet today in IPL. This game is very important for Punjab Kings from the point of view of staying in the playoff race. Punjab have lost 6 out of 11 matches so far. They will have to win their remaining three games to easily make it to the playoffs. That is, losing even a single match from here can reduce Punjab’s chances of making the playoffs. According to former player Akash Chopra, if Punjab wants to win this match, they will have to perform well in batting. Aakash Chopra has also recounted the connection of Mayank Agarwal’s batting to Punjab’s victory.

Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel: ‘Punjab can win this match based on their batting alone. To be honest, Punjabi bowling is very weak. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to win the toss and choose to bat first. Punjab can win only if Mayank Agarwal doesn’t bat or makes a fifty.

Akash Chopra also called Mayank’s inability to score runs a problem for Punjab. He said: ‘In the previous matches, Punjab adopted the correct strategy in making Bairstow the opening partner of the summit. Later, Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s explosive batting is fine too, but Punjab’s problem is that Mayank can’t score runs.

In this IPL season, Mayank seems to be completely off the beaten path. He has so far scored 176 runs with a batting average of just 19.56. During this, Mayank’s strike rate has also been within 130. He has been able to land just a fifty in 10 matches.
