Paquito Navarro, Galán, Lebrón, Salazar and Triay will lead Spain in the World Cup

The coaches Juanjo Gutiérrez and Icíar Montes announced the list of 16 players -9 of them debutants in a World Cup- who will represent Spain in both the female and male branches of the XV World Paddle Championship to be held between November 15 and 20 in Doha (Qatar).

Alejandro Ruiz, Jorge Nieto, Jerónimo González and Javi Rico, who made their appearance with the senior team when they won the European Championship in Marbella last July, will be together with Arturo coello the debutantes the orbital appointment in which they will be accompanied by Francisco Navarro, Alejandro Galán and Juan Lebrón, reported the Spanish Paddle Federation (FEP).

At 32 years old, ‘Paquito’ Navarro will act as the most experienced player of the team led by Juanjo Gutiérrez In which he will share the call again with Galán and Lebrón after having participated in the 2018 World Cup in Paraguay.

In the women’s team Ariana Sánchez, Marta Ortega, Paula Josemaría and Tamara Icardo, winners of the European championship this year, will have their premiere in an absolute Paddle World Cup and will be next to Alejandra Salazar, Gemma Triay, Lucía Sainz and Patricia Llaguno, champions in the 2018 World Cup in Paraguay.

The Spanish representative has in his record three world titles achieved by the men’s team – the most recent in Mexico 2010- and six orbital crowns obtained by the women’s, the last of them against Argentina in Paraguayan territory.
