The Spaniard Pablo Sánchez and the Kenyan Nancy Jepleting were the winners of the XXXIV International Race ‘From Santurce to Bilbao’, road test held on a 15.8-kilometre route along the Left Bank of the Nervión in which some 2,500 runners have taken part.
In the men’s category, Sánchez crossed the finish line installed in Bilbao’s Paso Uribitarte with a time of 46.45, which allowed Ibrahim Chakir, second, to lead by seven seconds, and Youssef Ben Hadi, who completed the podium, by twelve.
Jepleting, for her part, won the women’s race with a time of 53.20 after passing Núria Llugueros from Leon in the last few meters. Third was the Valencian Olympian, winner of the test in 2021, Laura Méndez.
