It should be noted that in a post that went viral on social media in Yemen, a passer-by commented that “a tank of honey has overturned on the road”.
They blamed the Houthis for the incident, while others pointed to fraud by some honey traders in the region, insisting it was liquid molasses.
It was later discovered that the fuel tank was actually carrying about 100,000 liters of industrial molasses, which had slipped.
However, one of the local officials of the governorate later clarified that the molasses which was transferred to the fuel tanker.
It is intended only for use as a fodder additive, soil fertilizer and bee pasture and is not for human consumption.
