The day that Samsung presents its new range of smart watches, the Chinese OPPO does the same. At an event held today in China, the technology company has just presented its new family of OPPO Watch 3 smart watches.
The company introduced the new OPPO Watch 3 and OPPO Watch 3 Pro with slight differences between them. The main features of both watches are their Snapdragon W5 processor and Wear OS as the main operating system.
OPPO Watch 3 and OPPO Watch 3 Pro have the most powerful processor of the moment
Both products revealed today by OPPO have a rectangular screen like their predecessors and contrast with the round design of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5. They have an aluminum fiber frame in a fiberglass casing.
The OPPO Watch 3 screen has a 1.75-inch AMOLED panel and a resolution of 430 x 372 pixels. The OPPO Watch 3 Pro has a 1.91-inch screen with a resolution of 496 x 378 pixels.
Both watches have in common the Snapdragon W5 processor, the latest version of the chip developed by Qualcomm for this market niche. Its promises are immense, from smoother performance to significant range improvements.
The last point is, by the way, one of OPPO’s main advertising vectors for its new smart watches. According to the company, the OPPO Watch 3 are currently the most autonomous Wear OS watches on the market.
In fact, the OPPO Watch 3 has a 400 mAh battery with an estimated autonomy of up to 4 days of use. These values can decrease to three days if you use your LTE connectivity.
As for the OPPO Watch 3 Pro, we have a 550 mAh battery with an autonomy of up to 5 days. This model will lose a day of autonomy if the user makes frequent use of its LTE connectivity.
For those who consider these meager values, the OPPO Watch 3 comes with the RTOS operating system in dual boot. If you choose this software, the estimated autonomy of these watches jumps to 14 or 15 days respectively.
ECG will be exclusive to OPPO Watch 3 Pro
For those most concerned about the health of their heart, the OPPO Watch 3 Pro will be the model to choose. All because it will have, exclusively, the presence of an ECG sensor.
However, the heart rate sensor and the oximeter (SpO2) will be common to the two models presented today. The two also have support for monitoring various sports.
Note also the presence of the 5ATM certification on both OPPO Watch 3. This seal guarantees the resistance of the new Chinese smartwatches to immersion in water.
It remains to report that the OPPO Watch 3 was presented in China with a price equivalent to €229. The OPPO Watch 3 Pro is priced at €287 at the current conversion rate.
For now, the OPPO Watch 3 is exclusive to the Chinese market. The company has not yet communicated when it will launch its new watches globally.
