ODI Bangladesh Captain Tamim Iqbal congratulated the test team players for beating all odds and registering a resounding victory. The team led by Mominul Haque recorded a historic eight-field victory over host New Zealand at the Bay Oval here on Wednesday.
Fast pitcher Ibadat Hossain took six wickets in the second inning on the fifth day of the Test as Bangladesh clinched its first win against New Zealand. It was also Bangladesh’s first test win over New Zealand in 16 matches and the first of five ICC-ranked teams away from home.

Bangladesh had not won any of its 43 matches in New Zealand in the first three formats.
Tamim, a 64 Trials and 219 ODI veteran, posted a heartfelt message on social media about the historic victory and congratulated Ibadat Hossain, who emerged as ‘Man of the Match’ for his seven-wicket tour of Trials.
“Congratulations to the entire team on a wonderful and historic victory,” he said.
