Nuno Tavares is dealing with a tough stretch. After missing three weeks with a muscle injury that kept him out of Portugal’s national team games against Denmark, the left back has again been forced out of action with muscle complaints.
In his first game back, Tavares started for Lazio in their visit to Atalanta, but things didn’t go as planned. He sat down on the field shortly after the 30-minute mark and was eventually substituted out at the 34-minute mark. This isn’t the first time Tavares has dealt with physical issues – he also got hurt during warm-ups before Lazio’s match against Bologna on March 16.
Despite the setbacks, Tavares has had a solid season on loan from Arsenal, tallying nine assists in 26 games for Lazio since the start of the season.
