The Sporting team fought hard to take down SC Braga 3-2 in the first game of the national volleyball league playoffs. The match was intense, with Sporting winning the first set 25-19.

They started strong, taking control of the first set. From 11-10, they surged to 15-10, with Irene Verasio closing it out 25-19. But SC Braga wasn’t about to give up. They pushed back in the second set, going from 4-5 to 4-12. Sporting tried to catch up, but SC Braga tied it up 20-25.

In the third set, Sporting focused and took charge. After a close start, they pulled ahead 12-7 and won 25-16. Jéssica Miranda served six points in a row, helping her team take the lead.

The fourth set was a nail-biter. Sporting took the lead 9-4, with Verasio serving five points in a row. But SC Braga’s players, known for their fighting spirit, caught up 12-12 and took the lead. Sporting had to scramble to tie it 23-23, but SC Braga didn’t let up, winning the set 24-26.

It all came down to the final set. Sporting took charge, with Amanda Cavalcanti serving five points in a row to make it 10-4. They kept their cool and won 15-10, taking the game 3-2.

Next weekend, the two teams face off again in Braga, with Sporting ahead 1-0 in the playoff series.
