In the publication, the executive highlights the improvements and potential of this processor compared to the Phone (1) that has the Snapragon 778G+. The first, and most obvious, is that applications open twice as fast and the performance increase is 80%.

Carl Pei also claims that this processor will allow the phone (2) to have better battery life, network connectivity or camera capabilities. “It’s not just about speed, it’s about the whole package,” he says.

Carl Pei wants the Phone (2) to be an affordable smartphone

In numbers, the Phone (2) will be able to capture 4000 times more data with its ISP camera. This also allows the device to come with features like 4K recording at 60 frames per second or Raw HDR.

The processor was also chosen for using TSMC’s 4-nanometer process, thus being one of the best between power consumption and heat management. By choosing a processor that has been on the market for a year, the executive says that it allows it to have already been thoroughly tested, and at the same time allows the Phone (2) to remain an affordable device.
