These days, Vikrant Massey is enjoying the massive success of the film ’12th Fail’. In this film he played the role of IPS Manoj Sharma. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film went on to become a surprise hit, grossing over Rs 69 crore worldwide against a budget of Rs 20 crore. Massey’s character in the film also earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Critics). Although this film brought Vikrant Massey into the limelight, he gained recognition through an OTT series.
Many people attribute the rise in Messi’s popularity solely to the famous web series Mirzapur. However, Vikrant rose to prominence in 2018 with Alt Balaji’s romantic OTT series Broken But Beautiful. Created by Ekta Kapoor, the series starred Maisie Harleen Sethi in the first two seasons. Massey’s role as a broken lover was liked by the audience and during the show he started dating his co-actress Sheetal Thakur, who played his late wife.
In real life, this couple got married in February 2022 and also recently became parents to a son.
After the success of Broken But Beautiful, Massey appeared in many Bollywood films. He shared screen space with Deepika Padukone in the 2020 film Chhapaak. Vikrant’s acting was also highly acclaimed in the web series Criminal Justice directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Vishal Furia. Messi shared screen space with Pankaj Tripathi in the series.
Currently, Massey will be playing the role of a cybersecurity expert in an upcoming web show, which marks Rajkumar Hirani’s first film in the OTT space. Hirani will produce this series which will be directed by Aamir Satyaveer Singh. He will also be seen in Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba with Taapsee Pannu.
