Nintendo is working on a mysterious controller for the Switch?

Nintendo has deposited a new Bluetooth controller with the FFC. What is surprising is that the Kyoto firm maintains the mystery around this product, which could as well be linked to the Switch as to a new Classic Mini console. The only certainty: this pad is well planned to be released one day or another.

Nintendo is working on a new controller, It’s a certainty. However, the company does not want to say more and is doing everything to maintain the mystery. Speculation is therefore rife about this unknown product.

The Kyoto firm has indeed filed a new Pad with the FCC, the federal communications commission in the United States. What does it look like ? What machine is it intended for? What does it bring that is new? We can’t find out, given that Nintendo asked total confidentiality with the commission for a period of 180 days. That is, we have no details and even the original diagrams are not accessible. The request was made on September 16.

Nintendo is patenting a mysterious controller, perhaps for the Nintendo 64 Classic Mini?

The patent in question still gives scant details. The model number, first of all, tells us something interesting. It is in fact designated under the name HAC-043. The Super Nintendo wireless controller dedicated to the Switch was at the time referred to as HAC-042. Could it then be another classic pad for the console? Likewise, the patent tells us that the controller is Bluetooth (which is not surprising) and that it provides a power of 3.5 Mw, which is more than the 2.7 mW of the Joy-Con that we knows until then. Intriguing.

Bets are therefore open on this product. It could very well be a new classic controller, therefore, but also why not a new Pad Pro this time dedicated to the OLED Switch. As we recall, Nintendo’s new console will be released on October 8 on the market. The arrival of a dedicated controller would not be an aberration.

On the other hand, some speculate on the imminent arrival of a Nintendo 64 Classic Mini, which would be logical after the success of the NES and Super NES Classic Mini. Unfortunately, there is no indication for the moment that Nintendo plans to release this product one day, but you never know.
