Sharjah. After beating Bangladesh for three runs in the T20 World Cup, West Indies alternate captain Nicholas Pooran said regular captain Kieron Pollard’s last six-ball while batting from the break proved to be the deciding factor. Pollard left at 13 due to poor health, although the reason for his departure is unknown. He hit again in the last over and hit a six on the last ball.
Pooran said at the post-game press conference: “He looks good. The medical team is working with him and he shouldn’t have a problem. He’s a brilliant captain and he came back on the field and hit a six on the last ball. We want to be like him in the future. ”
He said: “I received the full support of all the players. We could not take all the sacks, but we were sure we would win. We won by relying on our experience.
Regarding giving the last envelope to Andre Russell, he said, “His bowling at this wicket would have been effective. He is a great player and he has done it for us.
Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah said the match got out of hand due to Liton Das’ wicket crash in 19th.
“Litton’s wicket was very important as we were both frozen in the fold. If those six were gone, it would have been a different story. That’s the advantage of being a long outfielder.
Liton played a high shot off Dwayne Bravo, but tall Jason Holder, standing at the boundary line, took the catch.
