New Ways to Win: Championship Format Explained

The NFA League is trying out some fresh ideas this time. The structure for both the group stage and the grand final has changed. This keeps things interesting and potentially more thrilling for viewers.

Group Stage

  • The competition spans 15 days.
  • Twelve of those days are for the group stage itself.
  • Each day features six drops, or rounds.
  • Points earned here do not carry over to the next stage, which is different from how the first split worked.
  • Instead, additional points come into play during a “Point Rush” phase.
  • This “Point Rush” happens two days before the grand final. It gives an edge to the teams that performed best earlier.

Grand Final

A brand new “Champion Rush” format is making its debut for the emulator competition. This system adds a strategic twist to the final battles.

  • The first team to reach 90 points gets a “checkmate” opportunity.
  • If that team then secures a “Booyah” (a match win) in any of the following drops, they immediately become the champions.
  • If no team with the needed 90 points manages to win a match after the tenth drop, the title goes to the team with the highest total score.

Prizes and Where to Watch

The NFA has not yet revealed the total prize money for this current split. However, to give you an idea of the stakes, a previous event, the Copa NFA – Split 2, awarded R$30,000 to its participants. It gives a good benchmark for what these teams are playing for.

If you want to follow the action live, all matches are broadcast on the official NFA Channel on YouTube. This is a great way to stay connected to the Free Fire emulator esports community.
