New Israeli embassy inaugurated in the country

This Wednesday the new headquarters of the Embassy of Israel in the Dominican Republic with an investment of US $ 1.5 million, according to Ambassador Daniel Biran.

At the opening ceremony of the embassy that will be located in Downtown Center and that was headed by President Luis Abinader, the Israeli ambassador highlighted the climate in the Dominican Republic, where Israeli businessmen invest in areas such as water, agriculture, telemedicine, cybersecurity, among others.

Here, Biran announced the construction of a trauma center in Cabarete, Puerto Plata, for which they will present a plan that will be financed by Israel and the businessmen of that country that operate in this Dominican tourist area.

“The teachers and doctors will come from Israel to train and deliver the key. This shows that the Dominican Republic is on a very good path despite the pandemic, ”said Biran.

The diplomat commented that Israel’s goal is to increase bilateral cooperation and continue to strengthen ties of friendship between the two nations, adding that the new headquarters of the embassy will be the home not only of the Israelis, but also of the Dominicans.

He thanked the aid received in the country at the time of the pandemic, where the old embassy operated in different places, “in the end we are here because we cannot lose faith.”

Biran said that currently The Dominican Republic has more than 6,000 people who have benefited from scholarships to study in Israel in various areas that serve to develop the nation.

The ambassador said that due to the pandemic, 32 humanitarian activities have been carried out this year in the country with the support of Israel.

In addition, before closing 2021, Israel will donate RD $ 1.5 million in Santiago and Jarabacoa for children with physical and mental disabilities.
