Netflix offers many movies and series to choose from, and in late 2021, it launched a pseudo-random title selection feature called “Play Something”.
Instead of reading lists of the best Netflix movies and series, You can simply ask Netflix’s algorithm to pick something to watch for you. Netflix’s algorithm used its intelligence to find something for you based on your viewing history.
However, that is over. You can no longer ask Netflix to pick something to watch for you, as the service has recently removed this feature.
According to a spokeswoman for Netflix, this feature has been removed due to not enough people using it. The major streaming platform believes that the button is not needed because it found that users launch Netflix with the intention of watching a specific title or genre.
Netflix does not give up new ways to discover series and movies, as the said spokesperson said: “We will continue to explore other ways to give members more options and ways to explore and discover the content they want to see.”
